Jao Tsung-I Academy | Warscape from Above:Kowloon Peninsula in Wartime Aerial Photographs, 1941 - 1945 Exhibition

Description
Organised by the Hong Kong Spatial History Research Project, Department of History, Hong Kong Baptist University, and funded by the Development Bureau's Built Heritage Conservation Fund.
This exhibition will showcase for the first time aerial photographs of Hong Kong taken during World War II, collected by the team from various locations. This unique collection of historical materials aims to provide a bird's-eye view of the transformation of Hong Kong's urban space and landscape during the Japanese Occupation (December 25, 1941, to August 30, 1945). These photographs serve as a comprehensive record of Hong Kong, preserving many features and landscapes that are no longer visible today. The exhibition will be held in three locations, showcasing the urban landscape and historic buildings of Kowloon City, Sham Shui Po, and Yau Tsim Mong Districts.
